Stupid question - do chickens get ticks?

here in the last week we have been invaded by ticks. found one on my dogs bed that was the size of a pencil eraser, white gray and dead. the only thing that has changed is the neighbors behind us got a bunch of chickens. these are city lots so houses are close together

I just found a tick on the back of one of my chicken's head where she wouldn't be able to reach. It was a regular tick. not a fowl tick. I am concerned that she may get an infection. Any suggestions on how to treat for this. Many thanks

I found a tick in my chicken right next to her wattle, yesterday. The tick's head was stuck in her skin and it was hard to get rid of it. But I finally removed it. Hope it was not deer tick tho.
