I have a little week old baby... his/her crop is very full... how do I know when that is a problem? She is acting fine.

I think that at this time of night, that you are just looking at a full crop. Especially considering that the chick is acting normally.

Chicks eat pretty constantly, so their crops are rarely empty.

With impacted crop there is usually some kind of stringy material which is stopping the crop from emptying and the crop is full early in the morning before the chicken has eaten,

Thanks!

I agree--I had the same question and got the same answer. If you get completely worried, take their food away overnight and watch the crop magically reduce by the morning. Be prepared for some dirty looks from your chicks after that, though!
