Can an EE have tufts instead of muffs? If not then what might it be? It is black and white with slate or grey leggs and a real tint tail.

This chick has no tail feathers but some little short feathers that curl down where the tail should be. Anyone else have thoughts on what breed it could be?

Sounds like you have a REAL Araucana. Lucky you.

Now, Easter Eggers can come without tails and with tufts, but it is a very rare case that is caused by a breeder owning Araucanas. Like, ahem, me.

I've got a rumpless, tufted EE.

There! I finally got these pictures loaded on here thanks to my son... I am such a computer idoit...so what I need to know is, is this actually an Aracona and if so can anyone tell if it is a cock or a hen? If it is a cock I have someone who wants it so I need to know what to tell him. Thanks !

Bingo. Don't worry, we all learn from misunderstandings. I thought my first EE's were Araucanas too; I thought one of them was indeed rumpless (he just grew his tail in late) and was tufted (they were muffs, not tufts)

Oh, and he's a cockerel.
