How many eggs does ONE duck lay per day.

Yesterday at lockdown, I collected one egg, this afternoon. I collected 8 eggs out of the same nest as the one from yesterday.
    I have 3 hens ???

They should lay 1 per day, per duck [IMG]

Generally no more than one. Any chance either you missed the eggs previously, ducks will sometimes bury their eggs under the straw or other bedding, or someone is playing a practical joke on you by putting some eggs back in the nest that were laid and collected already?

    well, something is amiss then.

as yesterday evening, around 6pm, there was one egg, and I dig around, as I clean it out everyday. there was one egg.

so I figure, the other two laid an egg last night.

that would explain four, then with the third hen, if she laid an egg today, that's 5. I have no clue where the extra 3 came from. as the nest was a perfectly hollowed nest, same as yesterday.

    I'm baffled.

And you're sure they're all duck eggs? I have chickens that lay thegether with the ducks...
