Stupid Question...

and I am not even sure it's in the right forum, but I have a hen and a roo (marans) that are from the same hatch. Do I have to get another unrelated roo if I want some marans chicks from this hen? How can we know since we don't get a pedigree? Or maybe some folks do but I didn't. I just want more of those darkly colored eggs...
 
They came from the same hatch. They (probably) have the same roo as a sire. They most likely came from a different hen. So they are half related by way of the roo.

The same hatch does not make them brother and sister the same as humans.

You can breed them. But you will want to add some new blood to make the line diverse and your own.
