Stupid snake is eating our eggs!!!

Any fake egg will not work ,I had 5 eggs & 2 fake in nesting box . He ate 5 left me 2 LOL. My rat snake is about 5' ,but I don't have any rats !

Place a few hard boil eggs in a small wire cage, after he eats the egg, if you use small space wire cage he cant get out.

Then take him to a farm far away, around and old barn. Most farmers would be glad to have him.

Unless the new location has chicken or poultry. No problem for anyone, it would be a plus, RAT SNAKE eat rats!!! some time bird eggs.

When I had chickens in the past, we always got rat snakes, sooner or later. Used to get them on the bird feeders, too, when I had them. They are the ONLY predator I relocate. They go several miles away to a state park where they have plenty of mice to eat. I like mice and rats lots less than I like rat snakes. They are called rat snakes for a reason.

Don't tell me this is illegal; could be; I don't care. Don't like rats and mice.

If you don't mind the snake, is there a way to figure out how he's getting in and seal up the holes?

I suppose I could fill up every single space in the wire? LOL. It is fitting through the chicken wire. I suppose after too long, though, after all these eggs he's eating, he won't be able to fit through it anymore!

If you "relocate" it is going to be someone else's problem

I don't really see how this would be someone else's problem? As if he's the only snake in the world?

I have a friend down the road who loves rat and king snakes (as do I, however I do not like them eating my eggs) and they'd love to have him in their yard but I'm now sure if it would be far enough away? I don't know, I'll figure something out tomorrow when I catch him. I am GOING to catch him tomorrow.

We've been battling them here this year. I wish you luck. We did put moth ball crystals around the shed they're in and hung them in the tree next to it. Knock wood so far so good. Our duck is hatching her babies so I'm just biting my nails in hopes she gets them hatched and out of there before they start coming back. Good luck keeping them away. There seem to be a lot of posts on here about this, they must be bad everywhere this year.
