Stupid weasel!!!

Poor duck! when they're in pain ducks tend to delay eating. since she can't see she might be hesitant to drink or eat. if she really won't eat or drink at all, use a syringe filled with water to hydrate her. she's shaking her head because of the injury's pain. ducks can also eat ground up aspirin in water to help with the pain.

You are a amazing human...I didn't know that do u Know the doage for a duck? Send my love for the advice what a good sent!! Xoxo

The eye might be covered by her third eyelid which looks a bit opaque like a film. It also could be pus or infection. I would rinse the eye with saline, and use some antibiotic ointment twice a day in the eye. Plain Neosporin/Triple Antibiotic Ointment or Terramycin Ointment from the feedstore (ask a clerk for it) are good.

The wounds on the head should eventually heal, but I would rinse it with saline or spray with Vetericyn Wound Spray twice a day, then keep plain antibiotic ointment on it (use the Neosporin.) It will take a long time for the skin to grow back, but it should. Make sure that she has a bucket of clean water to rinse her nostrils.

Thank you sweetheart...I'm so worried she won't make it. I am so glad I have come to this form... I have saved one of my chickens when she got attacked by a fox while she was free-ranging...I watch my chicken, ducks and guinea hen pretty closely when I let them out free ranging. the fox came out and grabbed her while I was standing right there. I chased him he let her go . I so wanted to kick that fox it the bum. None of my family members or relatives and Friends thought I could save her. It was bad u could actually look down in her back and see all her organs ,but I packed it after cleaning it with Neosporin and then I topped it off with bag bomb it took her a good month to recover... That was a few years ago this time the weasel killed her which makes me sad... My duck on the other hand it's such a horrible head wound I will definitely try the antibiotic in the eyes...it makes me sad because this could have been prevented if there wasn't a hole in the bottom of the door...doors replaced now, but I can't sleep much I'm constantly getting up in the middle of the night and wee hours of the morning and going out to check on them. I am responsible for their safety and I hear weasels can get into anything....I love them they are my little therapy Birds and they love conversation...I hope I can save my ducks....I wouldn't care if either laid another egg again in their lives as long as they live... :'( :'( :'( thank you all for the hope...and advice. Hugs to y'all !!!

Have you read the thread:
That possum clawed one of my old girls! Help⁉️

Her hen was severely injured. The advice on that thread was amazing. Her hen (who started out already blind) is now completely healed.
I’m hoping for the best for your girl.

Yes.... Good morning and thank you for asking. This morning after giving her a bath and sterilizing her wound and cleaning her eyes with saline and putting ointment on her head plus eye antbiotic force feeding her oral antibiotics that you mix with water. I discovered she has another hole into her skull between her eyes and that might be why her eyes look so bad ,but one is looking better... She is still not eating and only drinks when she's in the tub. When it first happen if I would hold a bowl up to her bill she would drink...now she won't been two days since she would drink outside the tub... I had a good cry this morning and so badly want her to make it he chewed so deep I can see bones in the back of her head and that one between her eyes is pretty deep I had no idea it was there and while I was trying to make her drink water that's when I discovered that he had bored a hole in between her eyes I'm completely sad things are starting to look pretty grim. Thank you for checking on us.... And I never did tell everyone that I have four ducks. They are the D sisters and the one that has the most injuries her name is Daisy...the other one that I am taking care of because she is injured her name is Deanna...Then the other two that seem to make it out okay no injuries that I could see their names are Dina and Dixie. I am extremely down today...I am giving it my all.... I have to blame myself for not knowing the small hole was there. Hope everyone has a great day. :'( :th:(:fl:(:(:hit
