For the past few years snakes have managed to get my pair of black shoulder peafowl eggs. I only have one pair and my male is getting up there in years, and I wanted to make sure I had a backup should he go to that large Peafowl farm in the sky. So, this year I practically lived in their pen with them and snatched up each of the 4 eggs produced from my young hen as soon as they were laid.

One hatched out beautifully in my little styrofoam incubator.

It has been raised in the house, and that was fine until it started getting big. Now, I am not sure what to do with it. Can it go back into the pen with mom and dad, or will they hurt it?

I usually keep all the chicks away from the adults (regardless of species). Why? Well, it's more or less for safety reasons. Sometimes adults pick on the little ones sometimes they don't. Really up to you.

Is there good money in raising and selling peafowl ?
