Hi one of my hens suddenly had a bald spot appear above her tail. No signs of lice or mites and she has always been at the top of the pecking order. She was broody last week which I quickly broke by placing her in a kennel inside the run for 2 days. The skin does not look irritated or inflamed at all. Any ideas what is happening??? Thanks is advance file:///var/mobile/Library/SMS/Attachments/ab/11/74B06702-52EB-4BF7-80BA-F4554B36E487/IMG_2823.HEIC

I have a Cuckoo Marans pullet who is top of the pecking order and bald like that, too. No signs of being pecked at.
She was paying attention to her back end a lot last evening so I looked. I thought lice, but nothing moved; it looked fuzzy so I treated.
Today, those black dots are actual feathers growing in! That fast! No fuzzies.
I checked the other pullets and clean.
Still don’t know what’s going on.
