well my dumpy chick died this morning, she has been in with my bad eye girl, she was fine yesterday eating and drinking fine and going for the salads and treats, had electrolites in water, this morning she all of a sudden parilized on the left side and in an hour couldnt get air and died i couldnt do anything for it, is it mareks, i dop have an older sister thet has i think recoverd from a leg paralisis a month or so ago,
darn, they eye girl is hanging in, the scab is better we spand an hour a day soaking and small bits come off, the loss of another chick kills our breeding program cause she was another partridge but i just want to know whats going through them, only the chicks get in trouble,
silkymom,

i agree its the young ones, no the adults havnt been tested but are the children of vaccinated birds , i dont have a bird vet here in the boonies , my vet for my dog found one that says he does exotics but hes been gone for all week on vacation and i dont know till i talk to him if i can afford it till the first oif the yr, do you know what it costs, i know i wont let any chicks hatch till i have vaccines on hand for them again, now the bad eye girl has lost controll of her neck and i thought one leg, she cant eat or drink, i have been hand feeding her today with zoo preen baby bird formula like i did when i hand fed parrots and for my wild rehab birds, she seems better and at least standing on 2 feet since thisafternoon, i will fill her up again soon, i thought i would have to tube feed but she swallows fine for me, i see alot of the same symptoms in other posts of hens with these type of probs but am afraid to reply without knowing what to say, i do think the sirynge feeding of zoo preen with all the vits and electrolytes helped, thanks all,
silkymom,
