Hi all
I’m a new member, although I’ve been coming to this forum for a few years to answer my backyard chicken questions. I’ve been down to only two chickens for the past 2 years. They got along great and roam my backyard daily before returning to their coop nightly. This morning I found one of my hens dead. No sign of predators, looks like she fell from her perch? My generator kicked on last night due to a power outage and wondering if the noise could’ve caused a heart attack? Is that possible? No sign of egg blockage either. Coop looks normal otherwise.
thanks for any help!

Sorry for the loss of your girl. I agree with @Pork Pie it would be "best guess" without a necropsy.

Do you plan on getting a couple more to keep your single girl company?
Thanks
I have 6 babies coming in a few weeks that I had previously purchased from a local hatchery. Sad to see my lonely hen in the yard by herself.

Yep, they do need company. Glad you're getting some more...what breed will they be?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Sorry to read about your hen. :hugs
It's highly improbable that the noise caused her to have a heart attack. She may have been silently suffering from a reproductive issue or cancer. Only a necropsy would provide an answer.
