Sudden death of healthy chicks

Is there any chance you were wearing something that had a strong chemical fragrance? Like clothing fresh out of the dryer that had dryer sheets used? Perfume? Deodorant spray? Sunscreen spray?

I'm theorizing some sort of "fume-y" type thing that's more localized than all the air in the room, so the larger chicks in another area of the room didn't get as large a dose.
no, I just had some joggers and a shirt on. I had just woke up so I didn't use any perfume or things like that.

What soap did you wash their water container with? What soap did you use to wash your hands prior? It may seem silly to check what soaps you used, but there are everyday soaps you get even at Walmart that contain ingredients that could kill a chick if they ingested or inhaled even a small amount. For example, Soft Soap’s antibacterial hand soap’s active ingredient is “benzalkonium chloride” which if inhaled or ingested can be highly toxic.
