Hi everyone I have 1 drake and 3 females. Yesterday when they went to bed everyone was fine. This morning when I went to let them out I found my drake limp in the pen gasping for air. I checked over his body and found no bites or anything that would have injured him. A few house later he died. Does anyone know why this has occurred? We have no avarian vets around us. I don't understand what went wrong so quickly when he was running around with everyone yesterday. The rest of the flock is normal.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

The only way to know for sure is to send the body in for a necropsy. If you still have the body I recommend putting it in the fridge if you are interested. A lot of members send the remains to their state labs and we have tutorials on how to do so.
