Sudden Loss of Hen

Came home today, checked the flock and found a dead hen. They were all fine and eating normally yesterday, and there were no signs of sickness before. Theyre all just under a year old, no previous issues. She was laying fine. We found her in the coop laying below a roosting bar, in an enclosed, raised box, not on the ground or in the run. The rest of the flock is acting fine, and I know I could be caused by a million things. I'm just a little upset and wondering if any of you could have any ideas.

Sorry for your loss. You can try to get a necropsy by contacting your state vet, but since it is Friday, you will need to refrigerate the body until Monday morning. You can bring in the body to one of your state labs or ship it on ice packs overnight by Fedex or UPS. Here is a link where to contact your state vet:
