Sudden paralysis

I'm not sure which of the probiotics are best for chickens (horses for example do best with different ones than dogs) they shouldn't hurt her. The wrong ones aren't "wrong" they just aren't as effective.

My chicks LOVE kefir. It's fruit flavored and the good stuff (from a european grocery store). She'd need the good yogurt- homemade or equivalent. I'm not a fan of the major brands for probiotics. I equate it to fake ACV! Looks good on paper but not in actual use. ;-)

Is there any way to find out what chemicals were sprayed??  It sounds a bit suspicious for organo-phosphate poisoning. Check with your vet, but if she seems to be improving keep a close eye on her. Google organo-phosphate poisoning and review the symptoms to see if it coincides with her symptoms. Got my fingers crossed for ya, :fl

I received the MSDS sheets for the chemical, it was the herbicide Triplet SF, containing Dimethylamine salt of ...acid (3 types). According to the sheet the effects would be mostly blindness or respiratory failure. Leading me to stick with the botulism diagnosis.

I can get kefir at either whole foods or an independent health food store in my area. I can probably find good yogurt there as well. I also get probiotics at either of those stores, I prefer the refrigerated ones. There are so many brands to choose from, I get the least expensive with the most microorganisms and most pills. What would you consider the major brands to be?

Muscle weakness, etc with ingestion. Skin contact can give similar results. Stays on soil for 2 weeks, longer if soil is dry.

Aggh, reread what I wrote. I'm not a fan of the major yogurt brands for probiotics is what it should say! Yoplait, etc IMO use probiotics as a selling point, they could care less about efficacy.
Umm I just go with the one the Euro Market recommends.

It just occured to me that a call to the manufacturer would be worthwhile. If it's like medications, they have to include adverse reactions when asked by FDA. Though I'm not sure if they would include a non-human in their statistics. And they may have either suggestions or a code for poison control. Worth calling IME.

I need help. My chicken is very sick. Can't open her eyes nor lift her head. Just lying there breathing. After all day, she has finally relieved herself. Wet and poo. What can I do?
