It is normal for older birds to stop laying in the autumn and not start again until the days start getting longer. Pullets will usually lay through their first winter and then moult the following late summer autumn. I find that they come back into lay in December that second year but the following years it takes longer. My girls are starting to redden up in the comb now and a couple of the 2year olds have just started back up. This is the first year that I haven't had young pullets coming into lay as the older ones stopped, so I've had a bit of an egg drought for the last couple of months..... totally normal though.
