I'm thinking that Miss Meggie throws mostly cockerels, but crazyhen has that one that's about seven weeks old now who so far is girly. The two I have were accidental-confused her eggs for Skye's or Smoky's, dang it. Anyone want a couple of Meg's kids? Should be awesome, huge birds!
I'm debating on taking the last baby from each broody. I'd like them back with the flock. Nugget's babies are 4 weeks old, so she is at the point that many broodies start to push them away, but Dusty's are only 3 weeks old and she is one protective mama! I really cannot keep Meg's babies, boy or girl, though. Just no room! mudderhen is coming tomorrow to take my two NH hens, so I've sold 7 adult birds in the last week. (but, I'm keeping 7 Delaware youngsters, so I'm still even, LOL)
Took some pics of one of Meg's babies today at three weeks old. walkswithdog came today and took all of the barred EE chicks, so Dusty and Nugget are each left with one Meg baby.
I'd say this is a cockerel, wouldn't you? The four week old chick, the barred one, is a cockerel as well. Guess Meggie throws mostly boys.
