Sugar water?

I have seen alot of you post about giving sugar water to new born chicks. How much sugar to a qt of water please? It is getting close to time for mine from Ideal to come. I want to know. Is it better to give pedialyte or the sugar water? jean

We put in 3 tablespoons of sugar to each quart of water for the first 2 or 3 day. I don't know about the pedialyte. I would just stick with the sugar water.

That's exatly what i do...3T per quart for the first 2 days...and dip their beaks when you first get them, etc...

We boil it in the microwave to dissolve the sugar in the water then cool it down to room temperature.

i used 2 t of sugar and 1 t of gator aid for electolites for the 1st 3 days per qt of water, it really got them going.
