Suggested websites for buying new chicks?

I ordered mine from Meyer Hatchery. It was a "toss up" between them and My Pet Chicken.

I am satisfied with my birds and customer service at Meyer. I would still consider MPC as well, just depends on breed and availability next go round as to who I would order from.

So I had a really bad incident last week and I lost 95% of my flock. I am looking to replace them these next few months. What online retailer would you suggest? I want barred rocks, rhode island reds, and light brahmas.

The birds you are looking for are fairly common so most hatcheries should have them. The less distance peeps have to travel, the better off they seem to be and more will survive so you may want to check out the hatcheries closest to you.
I and friends have ordered several times from MPC with no problems until the last time. Chicks were due in the last day of April, It's starting to warm up then, right? Well, we had a cold snap plus the chickens got lost in Philadelphia

They ship to hubs, and by the time I got my chicks not all survived. Since then I've gotten chicks only when I could pick them up or hatch them myself and I've gotten shipped eggs.
(And yes, I realize it was the post office's fault, not MPC, but it was still heartbreaking.)

Rural Oklahoma. I can throw a rock and it'll land in the Texas panhandle.

I found a hatchery in Oklahoma but their shipping cost/distance from me would've been even more expensive.

I used Purely Poultry for a couple of started

chickens, and was very satisfied with them. Nice birds.

I've never ordered online before but my friends have really liked Meyer hatchery. You could also try cackle hatchery or ideal poultry.

We received 6 pekin ducks and 9 production red chicks from Ideal Poultry and all of them had bumble foot

I ordered my babies from mypetchicken. They arrived yesterday as healthy and as active as can be! I am very happy with my order!

Well I decided to go with Meyer hatchery. They were the only ones that had light brahmas available in a decent amount of time.
