BACKGROUND: We currently have 50 Hens and 2 Roos. "Olaf" is a Blue Cochin/ RIR Roo we hatched and is the Coop Boss (and huge). "Willie" is a sweet (and badly bullied) Favorelle Roo that hides all the time from Olaf (and is missing his tail feathers because of that bullying from Olaf). Olaf is a Great protector, good with the girls and very friendly with humans... he just won't leave Willie alone. We had 2 other roosters in the past who resided along with Olaf - and they all did great together - Blue Cochin & also a Lavender Orpington (both large birds) (and those 2 have since passed away, old age). So Olaf CAN co-exist with other Roos.
In any case, we would like a suggestion of a possible Rooster breed that would be able to stand up to Olaf, but not go after and kill Willie (if we still have Willie next Spring when we'd be ordering this new Roo).
