I'm looking for a breed of rooster that needs to be an egg laying or dual purpose breed and also very colorful. I already have a salmon faverolles roo and want to know opinions on anything else.

P.S. they will not be roosting together because I am dividing my chicken coop in the spring. I just want one that's as pretty to look at as the SF.

I'm partial to cubalaya (and other longtails and gamefowl). They're supposed to be duel purpose, males mature to about 6 lbs but it's slow going to get them there.

Ameracauna easter egger roosters throw some lovely colors and get to be pretty big birds when mature. Their daughters will lay you blue to green eggs too.

I looked up gold laced wyandotte and really like those as well as the partridge. Does anyone know where I would find breeders? If I don't go w/ a roo, I'll definitely get some hens. I really like the rose combs.

Any troubles with frostbite on welsummers? My wife was concerned about the combs because they are so large. My SF has frostbit tips on his comb from before I got him.
