As I had mentioned in a previous post, I have tried to hatch twice before, and had a 100 percent failure rate. This time I have an automatic egg Turner, and am not telling the digital temp/humidity readings from the incubator. When I got my acurite hygrometer and calibrated it, I discovered the readout for the humidity was way, way off. Like by 20 percent. Is it likely that would be the sole cause my abysmal hatching rate? If not, any other suggestions? The incubator is a little giant still air incubator.

That could do it, for sure. Was it high or low?

Too much moisture makes chicks too big to hatch. Too little makes tiny chicks possibly too weak to hatch, and can cause shrink wrap.

You also need to calibrate your thermometers. I suggest that you calibrate to 100*, and then spend a few days testing locations in your bator. Even with a fan, you will have warmer and cooler spots. Also, realize that with a fan, the recommended temp is 99.5*, and without a fan, you want 102* at the top of the eggs.

Monitor your air cell sizes, and use your humidity as a TOOL to achieve correct air cell sizes in accordance with age of embryo.
