I started with 5 chicks and am down to 1. It is a week old. They have been pooping a reddish brown runnyish poop. Then they get weak stop eating and then die. The last one still has plenty of energy but has the reddish poop. I was feeding TSC's medicated food and thought they would be fine but then found out it isn't medicated against Cocci. I figure that must be what they had/have. So I bought sulmet today. What is the dosage for just 1 chick, it sure won't drink a gallon? If I can save this one I may need to search for one its age to buy cause it sure looks lonely and its so upsetting that its alone.

Thanks

I would make it in the 1/2 gallon and make up some apple sauce/ yogurt( plain) with medicated feed with water and a tiny bit of sulmet with water all stirred together. Give them the feed for 2xs a day for 2 days and keep the water up for a week. Dont introduce any new chicks till this is kicked and area cleaned. It will need some buddies. Add a stuffed animal or 2 for now.

How long is the sulmet water good for once it is mixed? does it need refridgerated?

Thanks

I dont refridge it, I would toss it after 24 hrs and make a fresh batch. I do not know how long it stays "fresh". Good luck
