Have anyone do a taste test with this breed to Bresse, Dorking, Altsteirer, Bielefelder? What is the best large dual purpose breed to raise for meat flavor, egg, calm, quiet, not flighty?

Hear Bresse are flighty, I KNOW Sulmtalers are!!! Bielefelders are mellow and the roosters grow very fast and are very heavy. Hens lay huge eggs, but they are big birds so they do eat a lot while growing. Not familiar with the other two breeds. Best of luck..

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between theese two sulmtaler pullets. I thought it was the color variation that goes with a specific male color but in photos I have seen both color hens with both color males. I have a preference to the lighter one and want to know how to get more of that color and what color male goes with it. Thanks

Sorry, I posted without the pics. Here they are

This hen is genetically Silver Wheaten. She's silver based whereas the other hen is gold based, thus the reason for the color difference.

Breeding her to a "Golden" (S/s+) Wheaten male (what people keep referring to as Gold Duckwing

) is one way to produce more Silver Wheaten females. You could also breed her to a Silver Wheaten male, if you have access to one.

Thanks! This is the info I was looking for. Trying to find answers on the web is really confusing me as people call them different things depending on where your looking. Here is a pic of my male. What do you call him. He has no gold in his wings.

If I breed the pullet to him, do I get more silver wheaten?
I have some chicks, I will take some pics and post with a few more questions. Thanks!
