I'll have to research those clubs!

We received the 8 babies today! The day olds from greenfire are ADORABLE. Very vocal and active. The 12-week olds from RBA are from greenfire stock, and I'm definitely seeing potential in the hen, she has a great full crest and tail, the roo, on the other hand.... time will tell.

Roos in any breed take a year to show their adult potential. Their tail feathers develop later than the hen's tails. Must show pics!

Ha, that's precisely where his issue lies, poor guy is tail-less, but otherwise he looks great!

I'm picking up my EEs from the post in about an hour, and then, it's chicken photo-shoot time LOL. I'll report back in after that. ;)

I don't know why but females like to pick out tail feathers on cockerels. Usually not the adult roos but the cockerels get quite a thrashing sometimes from the females until the boys develop confidence. I believe that's why breeders have cockerel pens segregated from a mixed flock until the boys mature.

Get ready for the first pic dump tonight! The six day olds are looking great and I can't wait to show you guys photos of my rumpless boy

Snagged a few photos of the sweet Pullet I won from Rarebreedauctions tonight after I did her weighing (I wanted to see how much she'd put on in a week, lol.) she's a Wheaten from (supposedly) Greenfire lines. She's super docile and quiet for the most part. I can't wait to see her full potential

The more and more I look at my babies, the more I think they are wheatens... Not Gold Duckwing. Aren't gold duckwing chicks supposed to have chipmunk down??

If you look back through this thread, you'll see that they are not Gold Duckwing like GFF insists on calling them... they're Silver Wheaten...

I thought I had seen that debate! Mobile is super hard to read back with, I appreciate it! I can now properly label our girls :)

No problem... and if you look at the "GDW" girls, you can see they're nothing like any type of ducking based hen coloring, lol...

Now that I'm on my computer, I'm debating whether or not an email to Greenfire would seem passive aggressive or not. I love my Sulmtalers regardless. The way they're feathering in is beautiful.. :)
