A 50 percent hatch rate in the mail is good. I think you will probably get between 85 to 90 percent rate. I love this breed and I will probably always keep a flock. Right now I am have three flocks going.

@cluckandcrow I may be ordering some eggs through your eBay store soon!

I need to supplement my flock asap. I have a dire need for girls.

About what age did you notice the boys became fertile? We have a Wheaten pullet laying but none of the silver Wheaten boys seem interested just yet

I am brand new to Sulmtakers and have one that hatched on December 15th. I am trying to figure out the gender and would love an opinion. It seems like they're fairly easy to sex, but I want confirmation.

Thanks!

This one was taken today. It's just starting to get the poof on it's head.

This is it at a couple of weeks old - on the left.

Sorry, but she isn't pure Sulmtaler... feather color is off and she has green legs... legs should be white...

Ravyn, that's actually just fine with me. As long as she's a she. Haha

Mine are pets really and I keep backyard chickens in a city. I bought the eggs knowing there was a high chance they are mixes. :)

Going by Sulmtaler coloring, she is a she... but fyi, that's not 100% reliable when they're mixed... so far though, looks like a she to me...
