Sulphadimethoxine question

I am trying to order sulphadimethoxine online and they sites are saying I need a vet prescription. Is there any site I can order without the prescription? I really need to treat my birds and would prefer not to have to inject them. Thanks

It was made illegal Jan 2017 to sell water soluble antibiotics over the counter. It’s better to treat an individual bird anyway instead of flock medicating.

I have about 30 birds. And almost all of them have symptoms. Some have runny stinky boogers. Some are coughing. And some still have goopy stinky crusty boogers. I have been treating them with natural medicine for the last two weeks. Some got better but others still have symptoms. And my lil silkies don’t have much meat on their bones. I have never done injections either.

It sounds like possible coryza. Since you have so many sick, I would try to get a couple tested or cull the sickest, and get a necropsy by your state vet. If they diagnose a certain respiratory disease, you won’t waste money on antibiotics that won’t help. Bodies must be refrigerated and shipped or driven to the state poultry lab. I wouldn’t attempt to treat that many birds at one time, but sometimes you can find SMZ-TMP online for fish, and that is a sulfa antibiotic:
