I have some Sultans that are 26 weeks this week. I have an all-Bantam flock and 26 wks is about average for getting eggs around here. Now, I didn't buy the Sultans for eggs. When my husband asked me why I was buying 'useless chickens' I told him because they are beautiful - listed as 'ornamental fowl'...and they are that. Was just wondering if anybody had any Sultans and what is average for them/should I be checking the nesting boxes anytime soon?

I was out collecting eggs the other day and the Sultans were in their coop (they are funny birds and stay inside alot) and I put an egg in their nest box to see what they would do. The girls walked over and looked at it like "what the heck is that?" and then started pecking at it! [IMG]
