Sultan questions

I don't know much about Sultans because I only have 1 hen and she is a sweerheart an very tame. She is white, don't know if they come in other colors.

it seems to me they are raised in small backyard flocks mostly. i havent found anyone with a sizable flock yet. I did get 20 eggs from flowerpot. white is only recognized color but there is some black ones out there as shown on feathersite.
they are a timid quiet and gentle breed. but fyi the original sultans went extinct and were recreated with polish as base stock according to the internet.
all sultans please chime in

Panduanchook, you got the quiet, timid and gentle part right. My girl is a darling. I'm hoping to find her a roo one day but for now I have her hooked up with my silkie roos. Talk about beautiful biddies.

I have 8 Sultans and they are darlings, and are snow white I have not shown them but I may. They are a little difficult to find. I will be selling eggs in the early Spring for hatching. I have a roo for sale now and I live in Franklin, NC. Mine are pure bred and very nice birds! I will try to post a photo: If you have more questions feel free to email or PM. They are very loving gentle birds.

The is my Roo

i hope to be selling eggs/chikies this spring.

A couple of my hens have the large crest also and I have to carry them around when I let them out for a little free ranging.
What kind of project do you have in mind for the Sultans?

White is the only recognized color, but I've seen blues & blacks. I breed the bantam Sultans...it's been hard to find ones with the right number of toes & the slatey legs. I hatched out some from a fellow BYC'er with six toes & pale pink legs.

So I've sold those & I've just got a trio of okay birds (not very good crests or foot feathering) from a breeder off eggbid but I'd LOVE some more bloodlines from better birds....
