I currently raise standard Sumatras, but my flock is getting smaller and my good birds all died, so I'm getting rid of my remaining flock and looking for good quality bantams. I would really like some from Tom Kernan, as I hear he is the best Sumatra breeder in the country, and I also hear he's going to a show that I plan on attending. So I was hoping to meet him there. Does anyone have his contact info? Phone number/email address?

I prefer not to post someone's full address and phone number on a forum without their knowledge or permission, but if you do an internet search on 'Tom Kernan, Heislerville, NJ' you will find what you want. It took me about 1 minute to find it and I started with just his name.

Thank you. I found his info in an APA yearbook ad, though.

Soo.. I don't know how I managed to do this, but I must have mixed up the eggs that were hatching. Never mind that original pic - it is turning into some unkown Barabanter/ Sptiz mix.

But HERE is the Sumatra, which is splash and I'm curious if you guys think it is a pullet. All along I have thought it was, but now the feathers along the back are making me wonder. It is 9 weeks old:

looking kinda roo-ish with that scraggly tail. Hard for me to tell though, for some reason, sumatra's are the hardest birds for me to sex.

So far of the 8 eggs I hatched of various breeds (and I started with - ohh - 35 or so eggs?), I'm down to TWO pullets!!! AND ONE IS SOME KIND OF MUTT!

Anyone else care to take a guess? I have till a swap next Saturday to figure it out.
