One thing that jumps out at me is quite a few of your males appear to have fluff at the base of their tails, it's more noticeable in the blues due to the coloring but the blacks have it too, at least in these photos.

I really like the width of feather in the females tails.

Here's a couple heads of mine... It was sooo difficult to get these pics! Haha but I got 3 dif birds out of my 7.. yea the iphone doesnt like to work anymore for posting pics...lets try it again haha

This is a 8 month old cockerel regrowing head feathers..

Pardon the dirty beak but I think this one is a better bird of mine

This beak may be a bit narrow/long but she is young. This may even have been the bird I showed but I cant tell or remember
Thanks for sharing the pictures Dsfrango

Quote: I had to pluck a lot of Saddle feathers out of the males due to the hens Feather picking them. I don't have very many pens so I have to make due with what I have. I am going to a show in January so they should be all feathered in by then. I don't know if that is why you see a lot of fluff like that. But thanks for your input.

I recently had someone on one of the facebook pages ask me how many sumatras we have here. I was out (trying to) count them this morning and I counted 24-25 largefowl hens (4 duns, 2 blues, the rest black), a total of 6 large fowl roosters (2 dun, 4 black). For bantams, there are at least 20 hens which I know we have 3 platinum, 2 good dun, 1 dun cull, and the rest are blue or black. For bantam males, we have 1 dun (looking good so far), 1 black cockerel, and a new black rooster. So when I told them we had around 50-55 sumatras total, they told me that was the largest group they heard of. In person, it doesn't really seem like that many but once you start counting them, they add up real quick. They are the farms main breed, followed by production wyandottes, legbars, marans, phoenix, faverolles, hamburgs, and a few other bits and pieces.
