Picked up our new Blue Sumatra Rooster. I am not real familiar with this breed but this bird seems like a nice one to me. It is very gentle and likes to be held. Any obvious flaws with this bird that you can see? Yellow on bottoms of feet and multiple spurs. My 13 year old might show it at the Fair in early September if it does not molt. Keep in mind this is basically a pet going to a county fair, no big shows Thanks for comments and critiques
With yellow feet bottoms and multiple spurs, you have a good start for your 13 year old. As I said earlier, take a picture in a month or two after he is done re grown feathers. Do you plan on getting some hens to go with him?

Thanks for the responses. He does stand upright when alert and his tail at the base is a bit rough. He has been free ranging with other birds before I got him. I have him isolated from my flock for a few weeks to be safe. Do you think the molt is starting now? What about comb color? Are blues lighter red than blacks normally?

Elmer.....your child's bird will be a very pretty rooster at the fair show and
I hope they has a lot of fun showing the new bird. I have met nice folks at
shows and some not as nice but you can learn a lot there. Listen and pick
what sounds right or good and will work for you.......not everyone's ideas
or tips are best for every person or bird. Good luck
