On your bantam blue, it looks like his tail set is too high not just the main sickles. To me the saddles look to start raising above horizontal before you even get to the main sickles. I could be wrong, or it's the angle of the picture.

Could you get a better picture of your black bantam (so the shadow doesn't cut across his back)? His almost looks like some saddle fluff sticking up.

I forgot to post. I showed at a local 4-H poultry and Rabbit show. I had top 7 BIS show rabbit and first runner up and a couple BOBs and BOSs and from the Poultry I had Champion LF on a Welsummer Hen and I had Champion Waterfowl and Champion of the Show on a Gray Rouen young duck.(it was her first show)

No I agree his back is not a smooth curve and looks choppy. He is molting so when he is don't I will try and get a new pic. I can get one of the female he is in breeding with. She has nice type but lacks in the lacing that he has. Her back is very smooth and she has a longer tail which will hopefully help produce nice males.

We lost power last week and haven't had internet since then, hate using all the data on my phone but I had to chime in about the backs. The slope of the back is related to the whole type of the bird, without the slope of the back, you're going to have issues with the shape of breast and the overall carriage of the bird. Rhode Island Reds are supposed to have a horizontal back, dorkings have a nearly horizontal back that declines (slopes) to the tail. Look at the carriage of the RIR's and look at sumatras. If the backs were the same, the whole body is effected.
I guess everyone interprets the standard differently which is why some folks that follow the standard and have been breeding to the standard for awhile tend to do better over time than the people who buy good birds but don't breed them well and ruin a line. This thread annoys the heck out of me because it used to be so great and we all got along but one by one, the good people have been chased off. If something doesn't change soon, I think I may be one of those people that leaves. There are tons of people eager to learn about how wonderful sumatras are but if this keeps up, no one will be left here to tell them about everything.

This is good information on the back and how it affects the stance of the birds. Thanks for sharing this.

I quite like the bruge hens, but then i like the leige stags. To be honest i wouldn't mind what type i get i would just love to own some of them.
Here's two leige stags, Which one do you guys prefer top or bottom?

Aint gonna lie Raph, I like them gypsy or "blueberry as they called them" faces, so I would have to go with the bottom one.
