Sumatra Thread!

I wish I could work on a breeding project...

Yokohama/Sumatra/EE

but alas not allowed a rooster.

I do love seeing every ones birds and experiments. My 2 Not-Sumatras have been developing nicely, no eggs yet.

I have a pair of sumatra/yokohama/fly tie blend birds that next spring will be blended with my thai games. Really excited to see where this project goes.

my sumatra hen, her name is samantha
she looks a sweetie !

It's a good project ! Another good mix to try would be Thai X Sumatra X Yokohama . It gives long legged birds with a long tail and a full curtain of saddles . I' m working on a project like this

sounds good . im curious about the amount of gameness they inherit from the thai or shamo side? will they be more docile ? or a mix of temperament?

gameness is quite dominant , but you can have a good mix of temperament . Some of my sumatras are really gamy , so mixing them with shamo or thai will not change it hahaha

How the Not-Sumatras are coming along... LOL

Also the garden continues to expand out in my efforts to get a handle on it, I want to be able to grow more food... I would like to add a second small coop and add to the flock Sumatra & Yokohama hens but I will have to wait on that for now. They are still too young for eggs, but fun to watch, they get excited over yard treats they find and jump up in the air at each spin mid air often with hackles up and then some how decide with out combat who gets the treat... mock combat over bugs? Funny girls
