I like that hen
I noticed your hen has some bad legs condition.
You could spray some w40 on her legs as crazy as that sounds that will help to make her legs
Clean and smooth.
Thats my easy way to fix that and kill ticks

I'd call her a 'blue splash'...she has some leg mites too, you can fix that by putting some petroleum oil on them.

I've been calling this hen a blue. Just a dark blue. Is she?

She is not Splash.

She is Blue, a darker Blue with multiple Blue hues.

This is Splash.

thanks. I have a splash, so I know what a ssplashlooks like. I can see how "Blue splash " is a good description. But the general consensus is a blue as I have been saying. If I can ever catch the ferrel little girl I'll look at her legs.

i am new to these birds. just did not see anyone talking about splash much. bought these birds last year and took me until now to find some hens arounf here(north MS). I have a splash roo with my two black hens. i now have 8 eggs in the incubator and am on pins and needles waiting on them. have learned a lot by reading old post here. iwas thinking my roos were not real because of no black skin now i know how wrong that was. lol

"Bear" is just about as posh and exhibition-y as I can tolerate, but darn if he isn't pretty. Great personality too, just a doll. Now if only his girls would start laying...

12 Sumatra's hatched thus far. 2 are splashes, so I'm keeping them. I have 12 presold, so hoping a few more eggs hatch. Day 22 started at noon, so there is still hope for a late one or 2. I know my customer will be fine with 10. But still I would like to give her a dozen if more hatch. I just want to keep the splash's.
