summer insects?

The one insects I am worried about are mosquitos because they are bad right now! Do we need to try and control them or are they not dangerous to our chickens? Thanks.
 
If you had done search, you would have found many threads about the dangers mosquitoes pose. YES, you need to protect your birds from mosquitoes. They spread disease, including fowl pox and various forms of encephalytis.
 
my experience is mainly with broody hens! they can get anaemia, I've been there...

I don't have a huge mosquito problem. So far as I've noticed the girls just eat them. Just a bit of a protein snack
 
I wish my girls would eat them. Shoot they won't even get the japanese beetles.I have to pick and serve those! If you can get at the water sources for skeeters put in some dunks. I have a little pond that I need to empty and I hope they don't lay eggs in the kids pool.
