Mine dig pits that I can only see parts of them so it always looks there's just a wing or feet by itself which makes me panic. I thought my hen was decapitated once when I saw just my roosters head (same color as my hen) in one pit and and a hen body in another.
I yell and they pop up for food.
Yesssss that happened today actually! I guess it’s been a good day for some dust bathing and sun bathing!!!

Spa-daying!!! :love I have a Buckeye (CiCi, the little baked bean standing on my shoulder in my profile pic) who will do this on my lap. She tucks her head under my arm, then will kinda flop over and do the small wing flap thing until it’s stretched out to where she likes it. She even chicken-purrs sometimes. Such a little drama queen :rolleyes:.

The Brahma in the picture chicken purrs all the time! I love it ❤️
