Sunflower seeds

Does anyone else offer their chickens sunflower heads along with their normal feed? I've been doing it for a few weeks now and they seem to like it. It takes them a couple days to finish off a head.

I have given the heads as well as feeding black oil sunflower seeds. They are high in fat so you shouldn't feed too much.

Never have fed the whole head, just the hearts.

They just eat the seeds most of the time. I know I read that sunflower shouldn't be over 1/3 of their diet. I figured they'll limit the intake when they have another feed source.
