Very nice 1lpoock... I took advantage of the warm weather this weekend and did some much needed cleaning in my aviary. I think I'm gonna have to add some ring teal next year... very pretty birds. Nest boxes look great... did you hinge them somewhere so you can open them up?

i have a few questions
1) what is the duck in the 1st pic its pretty?
2) do you live around belmont county?
3) would that duck in the 1st pic stay around if i didnt keep it in an inclosed run just put a doghouse or something up by my pond for it to live in?


may have guessed but i have no duck experience only duck i ever had was 1 i got for easter a few yrs ago which was white idk what kind it was and my parents butchered it becouse even though our pond is a good distance from the house it preferred our back porch

Hoosiermomma- I am in Northern Ohio in Sandusky...right by Cedar Point

Geosheets- the Ringed Teal are really fun to watch...they are the best fliers! It was warm here and I was trying to get the pond unfrozen so I could change the water, it was just about unfrozen and it is snowing today..great! And on the nest boxes, the tops unscrew and slide right off.

That is a mandarin duck...thats the male

Do you live around belmont county?

We are in Sandusk, Ohio...about 3 1/2 hours from Belmont County

He can fly and would probably stay until winter and then he would probably fly away...you could clip his wings, but you would have to lock him up every night so nothing gets him.​

I've heard of the Troy Swap, but I'm not sure exactly if people bring all of their birds to sell or if it is more of a place to go to get different supplies?

I will be going to the Mt. Hope exotic animal auction in Mt. Hope, Ohio....love that sale!
