Sunny Queensland Eggs

Hi, I'm brand new to backyard chickens, and never gave the idea a moment's thought until January - then it's all I could think about!!!

Thanks to my handy hubby I now have a lovely coop and run to house our four lovely girls. We live on a small lot and are allowed up to 6 hens so we may add to the flock in the future. We love checking for eggs each day and I record the count, weight and who laid them (if I can tell) in an app on my phone. We got our POL hens 6 weeks ago and we got our first egg after just 3 days at home. Today was our first '4 egg day' :celebrate

Fun facts:
2 Isa Browns (Silly Dolly & Sunday), 1 Black Australorp (Barbie), 1 Leghorn (Vanilla)
Sand in the coop
Wood shavings in the nest box
Dirt/bark/mulch in the run
PVC pipe feeder & waterer
Late afternoon free range time in the garden when we can

We also have 3 boys and 1 dog.

I've learnt a lot from Pinterest but have lots more questions for you all, especially other Australian BYC friends, although it is interesting reading about northern hemisphere challenges - I can't imagine "winterizing" anything!!
