Super EGG-sited to be here!

Hello, Ron, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
32 is a lot of chicks for a starter flock! You certainly jumped in with both feet.

My brother had 20 over the last 2years. And I would go over to his house and upgrade his coop while he was at work.
He has a 12x16 barn looking shed with a single window and a large front door.
Last summer I went over to his place the first hot week of the year 80+ degrees F.
I noticed his girls looked "wilted" and lethargic. We live in Michigan and the few weeks prior were only like 60 degrees F. So I set to work adding vents and reshinggling the wood with a ridge vent for them. Then I added a live grazing area in the run for them. 2 foot by 8 foot long covered with hardware cloth so they cant get to the roots but have all the greens they want.
I added an automatic solar powered door for the run. And covered the run after my brother found a hawk trapped in his coop! O.o
Finally he said... "not that I mind but.... maybe you should get your own chickens." Hahahah
Hint recieved!

Also I live just a mile outside city limits here and decided that I wanted to sell eggs to my neighbors, at the end of my driveway, in a honor system cart.
I will be adding pictures as I build it.
Probably right in my coop build as i consider it to be just an extension.
So I was hoping to get 2 dozen eggs a day... only time will tell now!

Welcome to BYC. Hopefully your 'full time' coop is completed. They will rapidly outgrow that brooder.

I figured I have about 3 weeks in that brooder .... and no my coop is
only barely started!
Good news is I'm no stranger to building things and I have all the fencing and lumber except sheeting. So it should only take me 3-4 days of solo building and less if my brother comes to help. I did start a coop build post...
But have no idea how to link it here.

Hi Ron and welcome to BYC! Happy to have you join us on the roost. This is the very best place to be to learn and share. Good luck with your flock. You might want to start googling egg recipes now, you're gonna need them. LOL! :jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:jumpy:wee

I'm thinking I should get close to 2 dozen eggs a day. And I plan on building a "honor system cart " for the end of my drive to sell the eggs to my neighbors and anyone that drives by.
With the exception of our Mail delivery guy.... he gets a dozen free per week!
I will post build pics in my coop building post as well. I will start the cart after the coop and run are finished!
