Hello everyone!

I’m new raising chickens and in this forum :)

I’m writing this message because I’m very worried. I have three hens: one Buff Orpington, one Australorp and one Light Brahma. The last one is basically the boss and she’s is SUPER noisy, sometimes I feel she has a personality disorder and thinks she’s a rooster. I’ve tried many things to keep her quiet but everything unsuccessful plus, we live in the city and I’m pretty sure my neighbors are starting to be angry about it. I don’t want to give her away since I raised them from chicks but I’m kind of desperate. Any suggestions?

I thank you all in advance and can’t wait to hear from you!

One of my EE will find the highest point she can in the yard and preach a sermon that would make some Pentecostal pastors blush, at the top of her voice. :love

Loud hens come in many varieties... and I have a 2 year old barred Rock hen who started crowing this year! :barnie

I don't know of any way to keep them quite.

Good luck, share eggs with the neighbors. :fl

That’s what I usually do. Plus, I have my garden so I put together eggs and produce. Hopefully, that would help!

Thanks!! :barnie

Have you asked them?

To me it isn't much different than kids playing during standard daylight hours.

I'm super conscious of my neighbors... so sometimes I worry (even stress) about things that really don't bother them. But I know all neighbors and situations are unique.

Good for you for caring about being a good neighbor! :highfive:

I’m actually stressed about it too hehehe. They haven’t complain openly yet but one of them nicely told me that her grandson mentioned the chickens were noisy... After that, I invited them to come with her grandson and play with them.

Fingers crossed!
