Super poop....stink!

I'm new to chickens. I have 4 two week old chicks who are being fed medicated chick starter. I was suprised at how much their poop smells like cat s**t. I have parrots and their poop doesn't smell like that! I can only think that the chick starter has lots of protein in it to help them grow. I believe herbivore poop smells better than carnivore poop. If one can make that comparison

I use 5 way grain, I grind the grain in a coffee grinder that I only use for my birds. I also bring in some sand grit from outside. I take my chicks outside and let them forage with me close by. This helps to keep the regular and give them a boost to the outdoors!
