Yeah they might be getting crowded in there. I’d also put the water on a brick or something to raise it while they can still reach it though. Again, sorry for your loss.

I appreciate all of your help! They are my sister's chicks but I'm glad I was able to do something while she was away to try to help the sick baby. It is good for me to know that it probably would have had the same outcome if my sister had taken care of it (even though she's a pro) I really respect BYC and everything they are doing to take care of chickens! I'm looking forward to learning more and widening my ability to take care of chickens, and being able to have my own

This is the box that they are in, they are getting a little bit crowded, and hopefully, someone is coming to pick them up today because we don't have anywhere else to put them. You can see what I mean about the water in this picture. When I went to take care of them this morning and saw the chick, I went ahead and filled the water and started to take care of the sick one. By the time I finished writing the post, they had completely filled the bottom with shavings.

Could have also been failure to thrive , chicks can be okay without water for short periods . Sorry we didn’t see you in time but you did everything we would have told you to do. Usually by this stage something bigger is wrong and they cannot be saved . I’m so sorry
