I have a blue australorp hen, Josie. she is 3 years, 9 months old and was laying non stop since she was 6 months old. in september she laid nothing but thin shelled or shell less eggs, so i decided to put her on the hormone implant to maybe give her reproductive system a break. she only molted once in 3 years.
So now, she is 2 months on the implant and beautiful feathers.
My questions is: her skin is now yellow. It has not ever been yellow, even as a pullet. Has anyone had a similar experience? Her legs were typically gray, but the lighter parts are now yellow as is her entire skin and bottom of her feet.

thank you. hoping someone else has had this happen and it is nothing to worry about.

Liver problems can sometimes cause jaundice and turn the skin yellow, but I don’t know if that is her problem. Liver disorders can go along with certain reproductive disorders or fatty liver disease.

could it be a coincidence that her skin started changing color 2 weeks after the implant?
