I just checked the replys about our supersized giant egg. The hen that lays the jumbo eggs is a production red and I don't think she layed any egg Sunday... she is probably re-cooping from that BIG one on Saturday. We have 11 hens and we get between 9 - 11 eggs a day... one of those is always a Jumbo egg. When I found the GIANT egg on Saturday, I quickly looked at all the hens to see if one of them was dead... I couldn't believe it. We will probably crack it soon... We have mixed feeling about cracking it... but our curiosity is getting the best of us. I love checking out this website occassionally but I have to be careful how much I get on, because it is addictive. And now they added The Easy Garden link and that's what we are doing right now. Planting vegetables and roses...
Love this website... I will post as soon as we crack the egg.

in storey's cuide to raising chickens it says that the guiness book of record breaking lists the worlds largest egg with a diameter of 9 inches, and the heavyest egg is 1 lb , and record number of yolks is 9

thats a huge egg!
