Supplies List for Chicks

Thanks everyone! We've decided that we're not going to go with mcmurrays, because they are out of stock of most of the ones we want. So we are going to drive about a half an hour away to a hatchery tomorrow. We are getting 25 chicks, and ordering our guineas for june. We already have feeders and waters and bedding and a thermometer. So we need food, a heat lamp/bulbs, and a cage. Tomorrow if we can find a kiddie pool we are going to get one of those, because that would work out great. But if we cant find one because its out of season, we'll make a large wood box for them.
We're pretty excited, and I can't wait to see them!

So we got them today, from the hatchery. They are absolutely adorable!! So how far away should we hang the heat lamp away from them?

Incase you are wondering we got our heat lamp from the hatchery itself. It is a Infrared extra life heat lamp, andit is 250 watts.

They won't last in the kiddie pool for very long. Trust me they'll be able to jump and fly alot sooner than you think You'll want to have something that will alow them to flap their little wings around and jump about. Kiddie pools just arn't near deep enough.
