While most of the Greater Victoria, BC municipalities now allow for Backyard Chickens (BYC), it seems that the municipality of Colwood does not. I am interested in changing that and would like to find out if anyone else in the Colwood area would support my efforts. I have already been in contact with one city councilor, who has offered luke-warm support. If you are interested, please post a message or better yet, send me a message at [email protected].
Also, I would love to hear from anyone in the greater Victoria area (View Royal, Oak Bay, elsewhere) who has worked on similar campaigns to change their local bylaws, or anyone anywhere for that matter, so we can make use of the available resources and your experience. Colwood is supposed to be a "green" community, so with the right amount of support, this should be possible. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!
