History is the difference between the UK and USA.
One of our rights was to bear arms because of the relationship with the King of England at the time ( 1750-1776) . It clearly separated the colonies from the lands ruled by a king. It supported the rights of an individual. Supported our rights to vote in leaders. IT all worked together. Very different than England and the UK which still has a QUeen and parliment.
We will always have the right to bear arms. THe question is what arms?
SHould the citizens of our country have the right to carry the same level of armament as the police, or the same as the military?
THe answer depends on how you feel about each of these groups that bear arms professionally. Are they for us or against us?
FOod for thought-- not tryng to provoke an argument.
