Suppose to be a Black Orpington??

Honestly neither are very close to the orpington standard.
I wouldn't even worry about combs. They have bigger issues.
If color matters I'd go by that. If you're not a fan of blue then go with the black. If you like blue go with the blue. I've always like the BBS because you can have three different colors in one breeding pen.
How's their behavior/attitudes? If there's much difference with that then I'd make that my deciding point.

I agree completely, their type is all wrong for English Orpingtons.

Thank you Moonshiner...both are no problem yet, but they are just 8 months old so that could change. I just want a few more hens for eggs and they are calm and I like that.

I was also assuming American just cause they look closer to American then English for sure.
I had lavenders for a while idk how they're doing now but a while back they were a mess. They got popular fast and for a minute people were just pumping them out and breeding them all I think.
Lavender has always been my favorite I do hope since they been around a while that the newness has worn off and some are breeding good ones.

One of my current lavs. She's about 26 weeks. She was fairly hideous growing out, I thought she was a cockerel for the longest time. But she has blossomed in the last month.

lol and I don’t know much of anything about them. Heritage breed and cold tolerance is what grabbed my attention to buy them. I enjoy them and the only way they leave my place is in their eggs to eat. I really do appreciate all the information. Nice to know more about the breed.
